Class by Mia Action:
Emotionally Charged Play: Humiliation Expanded
Day/Time/Room:
Friday 12/6
6:00PM – 7:30PM
Studio 5 – Second Floor
While ‘hard-skills’, such as impact play or bondage, are ‘emotionally charged’ activities in their own right, playing with the psyche comes with its own set of unique risks and rewards. This class is useful for anyone who is interested in playing with intense emotional states, exploring deeper bonds, or wants to understand and communicate their desires more effectively with their partners.
Class by Mia Action:
Sadistic and Sensitive
Day/Time/Room:
Saturday 12/7
1:30PM – 3:00PM
Studio 5 – Second Floor
Do you ever want to be consensually vicious, cruel and ruthless during playtime, but find that the compassionate, people pleasing, shy, or uncertain parts of you can make it difficult to engage? When harnessed effectively, sensitivity is an asset for engaging in sadomasochistic play. This workshop discusses some of the ways that sensitivity can seem like an obstacle in kink, and how to reframe and harness that sensitivity to strengthen your skills as a sadist.

Erotic Disgust
Day/Time/Room:
Saturday 12/7
3:00PM – 4:45PM
Studio 5
Being kinky is already very stigmatized. But what if you are turned on by something even people in the BDSM community find disgusting?
Disgust is thought of as an emotional and physiological state that helps us avoid things that can hurt us, such as disease, bodily harm, and social alienation. Paradoxically, some people eroticize feeling disgusted, fearful, or ashamed.
These typically negative states are not only tolerated but intentionally sought out by some. And it’s more common than you might think! With consent and safety in mind, you can play with disgust and have fulfilling experiences with this taboo and often ignored aspect of kinky sexuality. This class offers a psychological deep dive into the existence of what I call “disgust-based fetishes”, or erotic disgust, such as toilet play, bug chasing, “mutilation” play, exposure play, heavy degradation, and more.
With all edgeplay, there are safety and ethical quandaries attached to these forms of sexual expression. I will unpack the implications and address the nuances involved in negotiating risk, reward, and consent.
