A classically trained pianist and drummer turned DJ, Charlie Tornquist (DJ Eklipse) has never stopped following his love for music and creating unparalled party experiences. Starting his DJ career in 2009, Tornquist began DJing friends parties, eventually spinning at weddings and nightclubs around the Minneapolis area.

Drowning for Dummies

“Drowning for Dummies” is for anyone who wants to add water, and a lot of it, to their breath play/interrogation scenes. This class will focus heavily on biology and the safety measures necessary to get the results we want, while posing the lowest possible risk to everyone involved. “PharmaKinkology” is for anyone who wants to have a better understanding of how certain prescription medications may affect play/scenes. During this class, we will cover everything from blood pressure to diabetes medications. First we will explore how a medication works and then take a look into how it may or may not cause problems for us during play. We will also discuss some ethical dilemmas that are likely to occur with certain types of prescription medications as they relate to consent.

Leather Redux (LR) is a just your friendly neighborhood dominant leather lesbian from the 90s. She is probably the most romantic sadist you will ever know. She left kink for quite a bit and came back which is what "redux" means - - a return or rebirth. She has come back to kink and is not turning back.

As part of the leather tradition, service to the community is important to her and she does this by sharing and educating people where she can.

LR has taught across the US both in person and virtually for large conferences such as Kinky Kollege, TES Fest, South Plains Leather Fest, South East Leather Fest, LSC's Uprise!, and Naughty Revival. As well as having presented for organizations and groups such as Leather Archives and Museum, Kink ED, Black Thorn, House of SCK, ONYX Midwest, House of Kush, Leather Solidarity Collective, MAsT Sacramento, the Dark Lair, House Exeter, and Leather Service Alliance. Class: Healing in Kink: The Intersection of Trauma and BDSM

While kink should not be viewed as a substitute for traditional therapy, our bodies are capable of immense healing when we engage safely in kinky activities. There is evidence to suggest that engaging in physical experiences aids neuro-network changes quicker than verbal dialogue. For this to happen, the affected networks have to be engaged, safely.

Talking about trauma is required in order for us to practice a Safe, Sane, Consensual, and Informed (SSCI) lifestyle. It can be quite challenging to find a kink-friendly therapist who is also knowledgeable about BDSM culture; there is still a long way for mental health professionals to catch up with the understanding of kink and its potential for trauma healing. We're often not able to share our lifestyle, and when we do, we are then pathologized for it.

It is not uncommon for people to unintentionally practice kink in a way that creates harm. When it comes to trauma, we must remain mindful and considerate when engaging in kink. To ensure that it is practiced in a safe, sane, and consensual manner, we invite you to learn how to approach this lifestyle
with a trauma-informed perspective.

Sustainable change within your submissive in an affirming way!

Power dynamics in personal relationships usually include some element of personal development on both sides. For example, a focus on the submissive's personal discipline and accountability is typically negotiated through operant conditioning by the Master or Dominant. Operant Conditioning is Behaviorism. Behaviorism the theory that human and animal behavior can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that some mental conditions are best treated by altering behavior patterns.

Experts agree: when it comes to learning, rewards, and punishments don't always lead to optimal results. In fact, rewards can reduce your interest in a task and weaken performance quality. Plus, offering these incentives may even be considered ableist or harmful to someone's self-esteem. If our aim is to help submissives reach their fullest potential, it’s important to find more supportive strategies than those promoted by behaviorism back in the 1920s. Modern neuroscience emphasizes the importance of “upstairs” brain functioning for learning; if a task is too demanding or tense, we aren't able to access this part of ourselves - which makes forming positive associations with something difficult. To really help submissives achieve their goals and reach their utmost potential, there are more effective strategies than mere rewards or punishments.

If we aspire to lift up and foster growth in submissives, it's imperative that expectations are tailored to every individual. In doing so, we must be mindful of disabilities, neurotypes, or other barriers they may have. Setting an expectation that is inappropriate for a person's disability, or not inclusive of all potential obstacles, makes it harder for them to reach the desired goal. The intersection between neurodivergent people and disabled people is well-documented within the kink community. Unfortunately, many of us have been/are still subject to cruel ableist systems that can lead to a lifetime of trauma and diminished self-worth.

This class is open to all – whether you're a submissive or dominant, neurotypical and abled-bodied or neurodivergent and disabled. It's an opportunity to learn new approaches to deepening your relationship dynamic.

Specializing in rope play and impact play, he travels to various communities and other countries to expand his knowledge of kink. Tempo has presented for venues, like Studio Friction in Denver, CO; Studio Theory in San Antonio, and large events across the country including North American Rope Innovation Exchange, Ropecraft, Frolicon, and Tethered Together. This class, ROPE 101, starts with a lecture on rope vocabulary, materials, basic anatomy and physiology, and safety concerns. The class then moves into a hands-on workshop where we will practices tying a single column tie and demonstrate its applications.

In the ROPE 100 series, we developed good foundations in rope bondage. This class is the first class of ROPE 200 series, Harnessing and Groundwork, where we take what we learned in foundations and start adding sequence and structure. This class will cover the common positions that many of the exotic harnesses are named after as well as the risks involved in tying these positions.

Materials:
Students are encouraged to bring a safe cutting device and at least four (4) pieces rope at 20-30 ft long. Also suggested is a mat or blanket for sitting on the floor.

Prerequisites:
All Students are expected to identify basic vocabulary, safety concerns and materials of rope bondage. Tying/Topping Students MUST also be able to tie a non-cinching single column knot.
